About JGH Dental Practice
Our Practice aims to provide the best possible care for our patients.
Our Practice Philosophy This practice is committed to excellence in all areas. It is our intention to create a working environment within which, individual members of staff are inspired to achieve and maintain the highest standards of professionalism. As a direct result of the commitment to excellence we can offer our patients the highest possible quality of clinical and non-clinical dental care. |
All of our nurses are registered with the General Dental council and the Practice was awarded the British Dental Associations Good practice Scheme in 2004. The practice continues to be a member of the scheme and this demonstrates the teams commitment to the dental service it provides.
The Team
The practice has 3 full-time dentists.
John G. Hodgson B.Ch.D.
Principal
Qualified Leeds University 1979 He bought this practice in May 1985. Married to Elaine who has has been in the Practice since January 1974. They have one son, Gareth, who is a keen drummer and guitarist. John's interests are music and playing guitar. He regularly attends live concerts enjoying all types of rock bands and musicians. Their aim is to constantly try to improve the Practice for the benefit of their patients.
Brian Griffiths B.Ch.D.
Full Time Associate
Qualified Leeds University 1979 Brian has been working at this Practice since June 1985. Married with two daughters, his sporting interests include rugby, squash and skiing.
Robert Campbell B.D.S.
Full time Associate
Robert qualified at Bristol University in 1996. Following several years working in general practice in the South West, Robert and his wife Samantha settled in Leeds and he joined our team in 2005.
He enjoys walking and the great outdoors, as well as reading, music and playing guitar.
Miss Catherine Simpson
Hygienist/Therapist
Catherine is the newest member of our team. She is a qualified hygienist/therapist and carries out a range of treatments on behalf of our dentists. She currently works part time.
Staff
Elaine
Practice Manager
Elaine is a qualified Dental Nurse and Practice Manager and has achieved a Diploma in Dental Practice Management. She is part of the care-coordination team.
Linda
Assistant Practice Manager
Linda qualified as a dental nurse in 1987, Oral Health Educator in 1992, Practice Manager in 2003 and care coordinator in 2006.
Linda is the driving force behind the training within the practice and helped the team achieve the Good Practice Scheme membership.
Caroline
Head Receptionist
Caroline joined the practice in 2000 having previously worked as a medical receptionist. Caroline is full time at the practice but enjoys gardening in her spare time. She has good people skills and keeps the reception in order
We are aided by our Nursing Staff:
Michelle is our Head Nurse. Michelle is a qualified first aider and has recently completed a course in cross infection and care-coordination. Currently working part time she shares her time looking after her daughter.
Karen is a qualified Dental Nurse currently working on a part time basis following the birth of her children. Karen has also completed training in cross infection and care coordination. She started at the practice in 1993
Lorna is a qualified Dental Nurse. Originally Lorna worked at the practice following leaving school and returned in 2003. She has also qualified as a first aider and care coordinator.
Christina is a fully qualified Dental Nurse and joined the Practice in 2006 working full time.
Laura joined the practice in 2006, she currently works full time. Has recently participated in training courses in CPR and Infection control.
Not forgetting Gloria who keeps the place tidy!
