New Patient Fees

The practice is fully private and we welcome both adult and child new patients.

New patient examination £55.00

X-rays from £7

Scale and polish £27.50

Fillings from £50.00

Adults may register as a 'pay as you go' patient. This means you pay for treatment as you receive it. Or you can join to Denplan. This means you pay a monthly fee by direct debit to Denplan and it covers you for treatment carried out at the practice.

Children can also take advantage of our Childrens Denplan scheme or pay a registration fee for the year. This fee covers examinations, xrays and polishes but not treatment. Separate fees are applicable for childrens treatment.

Once an appointment has been made we will send you a welcome pack. New patients are greeted at the reception desk by a member of staff. They will take details from you and make you comfortable. A member of our care coordination team will then discuss your individual needs and medical issues in confidential surroundings. Following this you will be shown into the surgery to meet the dentist who will carry out a full examination of the mouth, teeth and surrounding tissues. Recommendations will be made, if necessary, and a treatment plan will be explained in detail to you.

As part of your welcome pack you will be sent some forms to complete. To download these forms for your convenience please click on the boxes below.

Frequently asked questions

1. Are we NHS?
We have been a fully private practice since 2005. We opted out of the NHS when the new contracts were enforced as we felt we would be unable to treat and care for patients to the same high quantity under the new guidelines.

2. How much will it cost on my first visit?
Your first visit to the practice will last approximately 30 minutes. During this time we will carry out a thorough examination. This includes, not just checking your teeth, but the surrounding tissues, gums, glands and joints. A new patient examination is £50. On top of this the dentist may choose to take some small x-rays, these are £7 each. A large x-ray is sometimes required and this is £25. Additional treatment, including scales and fillings will be charged accordingly.

3. How often do I need to go to the dentist?
The frequency of visits to the dentist very much depends on the individual's needs and requirements. In general we tend to book appointments six monthly but if a different time period is more suitable for you then you will be informed. Patients must attend for an examination at least once a year to remain registered at the practice. This entitles you to the emergency cover the practice provides.

4. Do I have to have a scale and polish?
Scaling is carried out to remove plaque and calculus from around the teeth. Thorough scaling on a regular basis can reduce risks of gum disease, which is caused by the bacteria present in the plaque and calculus. Your dentist will advise you if he feels you would benefit from regular scaling.

5. How quickly can I register?
Generally we are able to offer appointments for new patients within a couple of weeks. We do not offer same day emergency appointments to new patients but will offer you the first available appointment. You are not registered at the practice until you have attended your new patient examination appointment with the dentist.
